Tanner David of Faith Academy Class of 2021 has been named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
More than 1.5 million juniors entered the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program and approximately 16,000 were named semifinalists. The nationwide pool, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
To become a finalist students must submit a scholarship application, be endorsed by a school official, and write an essay. There are 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The winners of these Scholarships will be announced in February.
