Sika Corporation will expand its manufacturing operations in Sealy with a project expected to bring new jobs and significant investment to Austin County, according to an announcement by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The expansion, approved under the Texas Jobs, Energy, Technology, and Innovation (JETI) program, will increase production of PVC single-ply commercial roofing membranes at the company’s existing facility.

The project includes more than $90 million in capital investment and is expected to create 60 new jobs in the region. As part of the state’s incentive package, Sika received a $519,000 Texas Enterprise Fund grant along with a $7,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus tied to workforce hiring goals.

State officials said the expansion reflects continued growth in Texas manufacturing and increasing demand for commercial roofing materials nationwide. Expanding operations in Sealy allows Sika to strengthen its supply chain network while positioning production closer to major metropolitan markets across the western and southern United States.

Company leadership said the investment supports Sika’s long-term strategy to expand its commercial roofing manufacturing capacity while improving supply chain efficiency and service to customers across North America.

Local and state leaders also highlighted the company’s ongoing partnership with the community. Sika first established operations in Sealy in 2016, and officials noted continued collaboration among the City of Sealy, Austin County, Sealy Independent School District, and regional economic development organizations aimed at supporting workforce development and long-term economic growth.

Community leaders said the expansion is expected to provide stable employment opportunities while reinforcing the region’s position as a growing hub for manufacturing and industry along the Gulf Coast corridor.

The Texas Enterprise Fund is a performance-based incentive program designed to support business relocation and expansion projects that compete with out-of-state locations while creating new jobs and attracting significant capital investment to Texas communities.
