The Virgil and Josephine Gordon Memorial Library reading contest winners collected on their prize. If the children read all summer they could earn the chance to ride along in either a Fire Truck or Police Car. The Sealy PD and the Sealy Fire helped fulfill that prize by making themselves available to the library and its winners. The police officers and firemen came to the library and gave the children a complete tour of each vehicle. They were then given rides in their chosen vehicles complete with sirens blaring, horns honking, lights glowing even being allowed to speak through the loud speaker. Congratulations to the readers who completed their reading challenge! And, big shout out to the Sealy Police Department and Sealy Fire Department for giving of their time! The library has plans to have the program again next summer.
