Sealy FFA members attended the 94th Texas FFA State Convention held in Fort Worth July 11-15, hearing inspiration from the State Officer Team, along with speakers Mike Rowe and Houston Kraft. While there, members participated in the Texas FFA Day of Service “Keep Fort Worth Beautiful!” projects to beautify the local park areas as well as a school supply backpack donation drive to support students in Tarrant County. Receiving their Lone Star Degree, was Grayson Oliver and Reed Dittert, in recognition of outstanding supervised agricultural experience programs throughout their FFA career. Advancing through to the State Speaking Development Contest held during the State Convention, was Ryleigh Gilfoil in Extemporaneous Speaking and Alana Lindsay in Junior Prepared Public Speaking. Kenna Schram and Ryleigh Gilfoil were also selected as representatives on the convention Courtesy Corps. Each Sealy FFA member served as a part of the voting delegation for the Area XI Association throughout each session of the convention program, with Area XI Officer Grayson Oliver and Bluebonnet District Officer Kenna Schram assisting. The group also attended leadership workshops and interacted with agricultural colleges as well as industry professionals in fulfillment of this year’s State Convention theme to “Amplify” their FFA and agricultural experience.
