Sealy adopted a very strict sex offender ordinance at Tuesday night’s city council meeting regarding residency restrictions for registered sex offenders and restrictions on public park entrance.  The unanimously passed ordinance restricts sex offenders from going within 2000 feet of places where children gather and restricts entrance to a public park that resides within the city’s boundaries.  This ordinance applies to sex offenders who have been charged with the intention of doing something with a minor and a minor by statute is anyone 17 and younger.  You can watch the discussion and description at the council meeting in the video below starting at the 56:19 of the video and going to the 58:09 mark of the video:
