The San Felipe Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a series of thefts in the 4000 block of Houston Street. After several days of investigation, officers apprehended 26-year-old William Brooks. He faces charges of theft, a state jail felony, and criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor.
Brooks was transported to Austin County Jail, where he was booked on the outstanding warrants. If convicted, Brooks could face up to 2 years in a state jail facility for the theft charge and up to 180 days in county jail for the criminal mischief charge. The sentences may be served concurrently or consecutively, depending on the court’s ruling.
