The results of the 2025 Austin County Pecan Show have been announced following judging held Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Austin County Extension Office in Bellville. The annual show, hosted by the Austin County Horticulture Committee in partnership with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Austin County, featured 55 pecan entries from local growers. The contest is free and open to any Austin County resident with a pecan tree, whether located in a yard, pasture or orchard. Entries were judged by Dr. Philip Shackelford based on weight before and after shelling, kernel color, absence of insect damage and ease of shelling. An educational program titled “What It Takes to Win the State Pecan Show” was held in conjunction with the awards presentation.
