The 11th-ranked Blinn College men’s golf team produced a fantastic finish to its fall season Tuesday at the Wildcat Invitational.

The two-day tournament at the Links on the Bayou in Alexandria, La., saw the Buccaneers finish 16-under across three rounds of play and claim their second team win of the fall.

Nine teams and 48 golfers made up the field.

Sophomore  claimed the individual crown with a 12-under outing, while his freshman teammate Broc Talamantez shot 7-under for a runner-up performance.

Blinn bookended its five-tournament fall campaign with victories.

“It was great to end the fall with a win, as it will help us go into the offseason with more confidence in our abilities,” Bucs head coach David Johnson said. “It was exciting to watch Ben and Broc play some real quality golf, and they made very few mistakes across 54 holes. That’s hard to do at any level of golf.”

Potter’s victory was his first as a Buc.

Sophomore Jaxson Daniele shot 1-over for an eighth-place finish; sophomore Adrian Rodriguez was 6-over and tied for 16th; and sophomore Cody Peters was 9-over for a three-way tie for 21st.

Blinn’s season will resume in 2026. A spring schedule has yet to be announced.

“I am looking forward to what’s in store this coming spring,” Johnson added.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 53 national championships since 1987.
