Just before 7 PM on Tuesday afternoon, local law enforcement, fire and Austin County EMS units responded to a bomb threat that occurred at the Dollar General store located at 651 East Main Street in Bellville. The bomb threat was made via telephone to one of the employees of the store who then called 911.  The employee reported that she had been told that there was a bomb in one of the trash cans within the store. Officers from the Bellville Police Department were dispatched to the store where they scanned all of the trash cans and the entire store premises but, no bomb was detected or found.  They then released the scene back to the employees of the store and the business continued as regular. Local authorities are currently investigating a person of interest regarding this case but, no arrest has been made at this time.  We will keep you updated as new information becomes available on this story.
