The Sealy Police Department is proud to announce the swearing in of its newest officer, Joe Rojas. On Thursday, February 10, 2023, Chief Jay Reeves administered the Oath of Office during the swearing in ceremony, marking the official start of Officer Rojas’s journey with the department.

Officer Rojas is a well-decorated veteran, having served in the US Marines for 15 years before retiring from the military. After retiring, he joined the Dallas Police Department, where he served for 3.5 years before being recruited by the Elm Ridge Police Department. During his time with Elm Ridge PD, Officer Rojas received the rank of Sergeant and worked there for another 3.5 years.

As a local resident, Officer Rojas always wanted to move closer to home and be a part of the community. When he learned of the open position at the Sealy Police Department, he immediately applied and was successfully hired. Officer Rojas is excited to be a part of the Sealy Police Department and looks forward to serving and protecting the community.

The Sealy Police Department is honored to have Officer Rojas join its family and is confident that his experience, skills, and dedication will make him an asset to the department. The community is encouraged to welcome Officer Rojas and to support him in his new role as he works to serve and protect the residents of Sealy.
