The fifth-ranked Blinn College baseball team will host the Region XIV South Regional Tournament beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Leroy Dreyer Field in Brenham, Texas.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors (cash only). Entrance is free for children 12 years old and younger and college students with a student ID.
The four-team, double-elimination tournament features the first- and third-place teams from the Region XIV South division, as well as the North division’s second- and fourth-place squads. The South will be represented by Blinn (40-12 overall, 28-7 South), which won the division for a third consecutive season, as well as third-place Wharton County Junior College (25-26, 17-18). Out of the North, second-place Northeast Texas Community College (28-23, 17-13) and fourth-place Paris Junior College (35-20, 16-14) fill out the bracket.
Blinn, which is looking for its third consecutive appearance in the Region XIV Super Regional series, begins its tournament run against Paris at 2 p.m. Thursday. Northeast and Wharton County will follow at 6 p.m. The winners of the first-round matchups will face off at 6 p.m. on Friday, and the championship game is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday. If no undefeated teams remain following Saturday’s title game, a championship rematch will take place 2 p.m. on Sunday with the winner advancing to meet the Region XIV North Regional champion in the super regional.
