The 16th-ranked Blinn College men’s golf team will compete in the NJCAA Division I Men’s Golf District Championships for the first time in program history.

The Buccaneers won the Region XIV championship and then received an at-large bid to the tournament.

The tournament will take place Monday through Thursday, May 10-13, at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.

“It is exciting to get to play with all the best teams in the nation and the guys will be ready to compete,” head coach David Johnson said. “This has been a great group of guys to work with all year and they are there for each other and making life-long memories every day. I am grateful for all of the support and encouragement from our Chancellor Dr. Mary Hensley, Athletic Director Scott Schumacher, the administration and the other coaches at Blinn College.”

The tournament will consist of 24 teams and each team will play one round of 18 holes each day. The top 18 finishers at the national championship will be honored as All-Americans.

Fans and spectators are permitted with no cost of admission. Golf cart rentals cost $30 a day. Merchandise is available at www.teamip.com/njcaa.

Tournament updates will be posted at njcaa.org/championships and on Twitter @NJCAAGolf.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
