Preparations are underway for the 99th Annual Austin County Fair, and the Austin County Fair Association has released several important updates for exhibitors, participants, and community members. From new fee structures to upcoming meetings and sponsorship opportunities, this year is already shaping up to be another exciting tradition in the county.

The 2026 Austin County Fair will take place October 7 through October 11, 2026, with livestock shows scheduled for October 4 through October 8, 2026.

Mandatory and Informational Meetings Scheduled

Livestock exhibitors are encouraged to mark their calendars for several upcoming meetings that will help set the stage for a successful fair season. Dates and times are on the AC Fair website.

A mandatory Colt Project Meeting will be held at the Austin County Fairgrounds. In addition, new participants interested in rabbit projects can attend an informational meeting for new rabbit exhibitors at the Expo Building on the fairgrounds.

For those considering raising a calf, a โ€œWhat to Look for When Buying a Calfโ€ Bucket Calf Meeting will take place at the Entertainment Pavilion. These meetings are designed to provide guidance, answer questions, and help exhibitors prepare for competition.

Updated Home Economics Entry Fees

One of the biggest changes this year comes in the Home Economics division, where a new tiered entry fee structure has been introduced to provide more flexibility for participants entering multiple items.

The updated fee structure is as follows:

Entries one through four are $3.00 per item, entries five through twenty are $2.00 per item, and entries twenty-one through fifty are $1.50 per item.
For example, a participant entering six items would pay $12 for the first four entries and $4 for the next two, bringing the total to $16.

Participants are encouraged to review the full Home Economics catalog for complete details and guidelines.

Fair Queen Applications Now Open

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Austin County Fair Queen contest. This long-standing tradition offers participants the opportunity to represent the pride and spirit of Austin County. Those interested must submit their applications by July 15. The program provides a unique chance to be involved in the fair while serving as an ambassador for the community.

Rule Books Now Available

Exhibitors can now access the official 2026 Livestock and Home Economics rule books online. Reviewing these materials early will help participants stay informed about expectations, requirements, and any updates for this yearโ€™s fair.

Sponsorship Opportunities Available

The Austin County Fair Association is also seeking sponsors for the 99th Annual Fair. This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œCountry Nights and Carnival Lights,โ€ promises a lively and memorable event, and local businesses and organizations are invited to be part of it.
Sponsorship offers a way to support a long-standing county tradition while gaining visibility within the community.
