Full job description

Special knowledge/skills: Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.

• Hands on mechanical knowledge
• Ability to read and perform basic arithmetic.

Major Responsibility and Duties: Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.

• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Position and fasten work pieces.
• Keep machine area clean and safe throughout the work shift.
• Work toward continuous improvement of self and work environment.
• Notify shift supervisor when any problem occurs.

Safety : Operate tools, equipment and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedure.

• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform jobs duties including lifting, carrying etc.
• Correct unsafe condition in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisors immediately.

Others Help in others areas if needed during the absence of other staff.
Equipment used: Hand tools, Overhead Crane.

Training Requirements:

• Dial bore gage training.
• Hone training through check list.
• How to read job card, temperature gage and pocket surf.

Pay: $18.00 - $32.00 per hour
