This episode brings back Jennifer Sutherland of Redeemed & Restored Ministries to tell about her recent mission trip to Asheville and Swannanoa, North Carolina, in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Jennifer describes the severe challenges residents face, including families living in tents during freezing winter conditions, limited access to clean water, and a near-total lack of government aid. Despite the ongoing crisis, government assistance was notably absent, leaving nonprofit organizations and volunteers to take the lead in relief efforts.

Jennifer and her team partnered with organizations such as Cabins for Christ and Savage Freedom, which work together to clear debris and build small cabins for displaced families. Jennifer’s group brought supplies, including 41 coolers, kitchen essentials, and $1,500 in donations, and worked alongside volunteers to provide aid and hope to struggling communities.

The episode also highlights the resilience of those impacted and the selfless efforts of volunteers, including individuals from across the country. Jennifer stresses the urgent need for monetary contributions, shelter materials, and specific items like coolers, which are vital for food storage and safety in the area. She calls on the community to support these efforts, emphasizing that even small donations can make a significant difference.

This underreported disaster, which has left families and businesses in ruins, demands continued attention and action. Jennifer urges everyone to step up through donations, volunteerism, and prayer to support the recovery of these forgotten communities.
