No. 9 seed Blinn College men’s basketball was able to shake off a sluggish start to storm back and outscore No. 8 seed Lamar State College – Port Arthur by 29 points in the second half to win 75-65 in the opening round of the Region XIV tournament at John Alexander Gymnasium.

Blinn College men’s basketball was nearly able to recover from a rough first half but the comeback attempt fell just short as Lee College held on for a 95-87 victory Saturday evening inside the P.E. Building.

Blinn College had a rough day at Galveston College as the Buccaneers were swept 11-1 and 4-3 on Saturday to lose two out of three in the series. With the pair of losses, Blinn falls to 11-8 overall and 4-2 in Region XIV play.

Blinn College was one out away from suffering a conference-opening loss but stormed back to force extra innings and seal the victory with two runs in the 10th for a 4-2 victory over Wharton County Junior College Thursday night.

Blinn College men’s basketball was unable to get key stops early on in the game as Lamar State College – Port Arthur jumped out to an early lead and held it wire to wire for the 76-63 victory Wednesday night.
