Well, once again President-Elect Donald Trump has stunned the media and political establishments by announcing Stephen Bannon, former head of Breitbart News, as the chief White House Strategist. The move immediately condemned by groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center because Bannon, they say, promotes white supremacy. So, what is true about Stephen Bannon and white nationalism?

All of this may sound extreme, but this Presidential election has been nothing short of insane thus far. Whatever the outcome, there will be calls of rigging from both sides, especially if it happens to be Hillary Clinton who , as evidence shows, has been rigging things all along. On Monday, The Daily Beast published a hugely important story about AT&T’s in-house, for-profit surveillance operation called Project Hemisphere. The program has nothing to do with information sharing legally required under a warrant, but rather consists of a business line through which the telecom giant stores customer data longer than peers in order to turn around and sell it to government agencies (no warrant required). This allows law enforcement to use secret and never disclosed evidence to build cases against citizens via a shady and unaccountable practice known as parallel construction.
