The Blinn College football team endured a tough day on the gridiron Saturday, resulting in a 55-7 loss to No. 3 Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas.
The Southwest Junior College Football Conference setback dropped the Buccaneers to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Tyler opened the scoring on the first offensive drive of the game and went on to build a 34-0 halftime lead.
Blinn turned to backup quarterbackย Trevor Longย late in the game, and the freshman ended the Apaches’ shutout bid with an 11-yard touchdown pass to freshman wide receiverย Braylen Harris.
Up next for the Bucs is a bye week in which they will look to regroup ahead of a conference road trip to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, in Miami, Okla.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 53ย national championships since 1987.
