LUFKIN, Texas – The struggles of Blinn College men’s basketball started right from the get-go Feb. 21 and the rest of the game didn’t get much better as Angelina College cruised to a 100-67 victory in Lufkin.

Jalan McCloud finished with a team-high 18 points while Morris Dunnigan had 17 and Ja’Cardo Hawkins finished with 14 points. The loss moves the Blinn record down to 10-7 in conference and 20-8 overall.

Blinn had to burn a couple of timeouts following the opening tip as Angelina came out strong and led 51-29 at the half.

“Angelina played a great game and we did not,” said Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher.

Blinn did not get much closer in the second half as Angelina kept its momentum.

With only two games remaining on the season, coach Schumacher is hoping that the players find another gear for the remaining games.

Blinn will host its final home game of the season Feb. 25 against Lamar State College – Port Arthur at 7:30 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 30 NJCAA national championships since 1987. For more information, visit www.buccaneersports.com.
