The win improved the Buccaneers to 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the region standings.

“I’m very excited for our guys to go on the road and get a win in this region,” Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. “Any time you get a win on the road is a good thing, and any coach will tell you they’ll take it. We shared the ball on offense, guarded, and rebounded. It was a big win, and our preseason schedule prepared us for this.”

The Bucs built a 35-24 halftime advantage with the help of sophomore guard Bakari LaStrap, who scored all 13 of his points before the break.

Blinn pulled away behind sophomore guards and leading scorers Elijah Elliott and Marco Foster, who tallied 22 points apiece. Sophomore forward Alex Tsynkevich chipped in 10.

The Bucs continue their season with a home tilt against Paris Junior College at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
