The Blinn College esports team fell to James Madison University in a Rocket League match Monday.ย
The 3-0 decision dropped the Buccaneers to 0-4 overall in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) East 6 Conference.ย
Competing for Blinn were Logan Mcclain,ย Braeden Buffington, andย Xavier Johnson.ย ย
“While the scoreboard may not reflect it, our players demonstrated significant progress compared to previous matches, underscoring their unwavering commitment to self-improvement,” said Blinn assistant coach and Rocket League manager Kyle Murto. “Despite a tough start to the NACE regular season, our team’s relentless dedication to honing its skills and addressing weaknesses remains at the forefront. While this season will be ending in a few weeks, we are looking forward to the upcoming NJCAA Esports competitions in the spring.”ย
Blinn’s Rocket League team will have an extended break before a NACE doubleheader on Monday, Oct. 16. The Bucs will battle the University of Cincinnati at 6 p.m. and Thomas College at 8 p.m.ย
Blinn Call of Duty will face Iowa Western Community College in an NJCAA Esports matchup at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The Bucs’ Overwatch squad will also be in action Tuesday when they battle Bethany Lutheran College in a NACE tilt at 7:30 p.m.ย
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 44 NJCAA national championships since 1987.ย
