BRENHAM, Texas- The Blinn College men’s basketball team defeated Weatherford College, 69-61, on Saturday in the P.E. Building.

“This is a tremendous win for our team,” said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. “I thought our players competed at a high level throughout the entire game and were rewarded for their efforts.”

Antione Lister led the Blinn offense with 14 points, while Tony Lewis followed with 13, and Anthony Rice and Gianni Ford pitched in nine points each.

Blinn and Weatherford played even in the first half as both teams put up 36 points.  The Buccaneers outscored Weatherford by eight points in the second half to come out on top.

Blinn’s record increases to 5-1 following the win.

The Buccaneers will face Houston Community College on Monday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the P.E. Building.
