The Brazos Powerlifting program recently hosted the highly anticipated Brazos Strong Invitational, where athletes had the chance to show off their strength and skill in front of a supportive home crowd. The meet was a huge success, with the coaching staff running a smooth and well-organized event.

In the boys’ competition, the team took 4th place overall, with several individuals putting on impressive performances. Sergio Martinez took 1st place, Ryan Meyer placed 3rd, and Dayton Prado placed 3rd. Other top performers included Gauge McCain, Kasey Zientek, and Daniel San Miguel.

In the girls’ competition, the team took 1st place, dominating the competition with several top performances. Jemma Zahradnik placed 1st, Sara Ricon-Morales placed 1st, Camille Combie placed 1st, and Marlena Nunn placed 1st. Lily Bertrand placed 2nd, Aliana Villa placed 4th, and Jessica Ramos placed 2nd. Maggie Ochoa placed 3rd, and Cheyenne Michalsky placed 1st, with Viviana Galvan and Tiona Steward also placing in the top 10.

The athletes have been working hard in the lead up to this meet and the results clearly show their dedication and improvement. They now set their sights on the Regional Meets at the end of the month, with the goal of qualifying for the next level of competition.

Overall, the Brazos Strong Invitational was a resounding success, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams putting on impressive performances. The future looks bright for the Brazos Powerlifting program, and we can’t wait to see what they will achieve next.
