The Brazos County Sheriffโs Office is continuing its investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred Monday afternoon, August 4, 2025, in the 9400 block of East Highway 21. The incident, which involved a confrontation between two men in a business parking lot, left one person dead and another injured.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Bradley Marshall of Madison County. According to initial reports, Marshall approached a customerโs truck in the parking lot of a local business. The truck was occupied by the customer and his family at the time. Witnesses reported to Brazos County deputies that Marshall attempted to open the vehicleโs door and made statements indicating that he was going to take the truck. A physical struggle followed between the customer and Marshall. During the altercation, the customer was able to retrieve a firearm from inside his truck. He fired multiple shots during the struggle, striking Marshall. The customer also sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the course of the incident.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 12:41 p.m. Deputies arrived to find both individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Marshall was pronounced dead at the scene. The customer was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were reported to be non-life-threatening.
The business where the incident occurred has not been identified, but officials confirmed that no employees or other patrons were involved. At this time, no charges have been filed in connection with the case, and the fatal shooting investigation remains active. Authorities have stated that the shooting incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
