The Buccaneers, seeded seventh in the tournament, finished their season with a 17-15 record. Second-seeded Lee advanced to face Panola College in the semifinals.

“I’m really proud of my guys,” Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. “It was still a two-point game with 10 minutes to go. We battled until the very end, but unfortunately, we just came up short.”

Leading the way offensively for the Buccaneers was freshman guard Maurice Pinnock, who scored 18 points. Sophomore Connor Raines added 12 points, and freshman guards Braelon Seals and Azari Woods tallied nine apiece.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
