The NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship came to a close Friday, as Blinn College sophomore Holly Paterson and freshman Natalie Peebles completed the four-day tournament at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan.

Paterson, making her second appearance at nationals, shot 38-over par to finish 43rd in the field of 85 golfers. In her first national competition, Peebles was 45-over for a two-way tie for 56th. Buffalo Dunes is set at Par 72.

“We are really proud of Holly and Natalie for representing Blinn at the National tournament. What an experience for them both,” Blinn head coach David Johnson said. “They battled through all four rounds, and it was a lot of golf on a difficult course. Throw in the Kansas spring winds and tall rough, and I thought they both played well.”

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 43 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
