Blinn picked up the road win over Wharton 25-20, 25-15, 25-11 in a match controlled offensively by the Bucs, who had a .376% attack percentage.

Blinn is now 12-1 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.

“I’m really proud of how the girls played tonight,” coach Terry Gamble said. “Our ball control was good.”

Gamble said Chard’e Van Zandt, Jayde Shelton, and Ashley Taylor each had a good match offensively.

Shelton led Blinn with 16 kills and a .466 attack percentage. Van Zandt added nine kills (.421 attack percentage), Guilia Hortelan five kills, and Reagan Casey four kills. Kyndal Coufal led the Bucs with eight digs, and Hortelan added seven

Blinn will play in the CenTex Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Temple. The Bucs are scheduled to play Hill College at 2 p.m. and Western Texas College at 4 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, Blinn will take on Dallas College-Cedar Valley at 10 a.m. and Brookhaven College at 4 p.m.

The Bucs return to conference play Wednesday, hosting Trinity Valley Community College at 6 p.m. in the Kruse Center. Trinity Valley is ranked 16th in this week’s national rankings.
