The Blinn College District has postponed its annual Performing Arts Series at the O’Donnell Center until the Spring 2021 semester, the Division of Visual/Performing Arts and Kinesiology has announced.

Blinn’s Performing Arts Series has become an annual tradition, bringing national and international performers to the Brenham stage. Last year, the Performing Arts Series’ fifth season featured “Rave On! The Buddy Holly Experience” starring Billy McGuigan, Riders in the Sky’s “Christmas the Cowboy Way,” and “Finding Neverland.” The Young Irelanders’ return performance, scheduled for March, was canceled due to the pandemic.

“Unfortunately, based on current information regarding the ongoing health crisis, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020-21 season with the goal of resuming the Performing Arts Series during the Spring 2021 semester,” said Debbi Vavra, Dean of Visual/Performing Arts and Kinesiology. “As we plan our next steps, please know that we are working closely with public health officials at the College, city, county, and state levels, and that our top priority is the safety of our employees, students, guests, and performers.”

Blinn also has canceled its live theatre and music performances for the Fall semester.

Once an updated schedule is established, information will be shared with the public and made available at www.blinn.edu/performing-arts-series.
