Temple won the opener 5-4 in a nine-inning, extra-inning tilt before the Buccaneers rallied from a six-run deficit in game two and earned a 12-10 victory in seven innings.

Blinn is now 7-18 overall.

In game one, the Leopards scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to earn the win.

The Buccaneers opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the third inning, and after Temple took a 3-2 edge, Blinn again jumped ahead with a two-run fourth. The Leopards then tied the ballgame with a single tally in their half of the fourth.

Reliever Eric Oakes was the pitcher of record for the Bucs after allowing the winning run in the ninth. He worked 2 1/3 innings, allowed two hits, three walks, and struck out two. Colson Geisler started for Blinn and allowed three runs (two earned) in 2 2/3 frames.

Liam Koleci had two singles for the Bucs and Chase Arnaud doubled and scored. Bo RodgersCarter Allen, and Jett Garcia also scored for Blinn.

In the finale, Temple led 7-1 in the fifth inning, but the Bucs piled on 11 runs in the final three frames.

Blinn finished with 11 hits.

Koleci finished with three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three RBIs while scoring four times. Dave Wilson doubled twice, scored twice, and plated two Buccaneers.

Arturo Hernandez collected three RBIs, and Trevor Roper and Arnaud also drove in runs.

Pitcher Ryan Young notched the win for Blinn with two innings of work. He allowed three earned runs on four hits with four punchouts and two walks.

The Bucs begin a Region XIV South series with Coastal Bend beginning 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, in Beeville, Texas. The two teams will then play a twin bill in Brenham starting with a 2 p.m. opener on Saturday, March 19, at Fireman’s Park.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
