The Blinn College volleyball team swept through the Kruse Kickoff Classic without losing a single game.

Blinn downed Western Texas College and Temple College by 3-0 scores Saturday, following up 3-0 tournament wins Friday over New Mexico Junior College and Clarendon College.

The Bucs swept Western Texas College 25-12, 25-12, 25-13 and beat Temple 25-14, 25-17, 25-20.

Jayde Shelton led Blinn against Temple with 13 of the team’s 44 kills. Reagan Casey, Chard’e Van Zandt, and Guilia Hortelan each had seven kills. Lixai Velez led the Bucs with 14 digs.

“I thought the girls played really hard this weekend and I’m happy with how well they did,” head coach Terry Gamble said. “I just hope we keep improving, because we could become a very good team if we do.”

Blinn, ranked 7th in the nation, pushed its winning streak to nine matches. The Bucs (10-1 on the season, 1-0 in conference) will host conference foe Victoria College at 6 p.m.
