The Buccaneers are now 4-6 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

Blinn led the match 1-0, but Northeast Texas rallied for the victory on a pair of penalty kicks.

“To go up a goal and give up the lead is heartbreaking,” Buccaneers head coach Alexandria Jackson said. “We have to be able to finish a game.”

Sophomore defender Taiya Mitchell scored Blinn’s lone goal.

The Bucs outshot the Eagles 13-5.

Freshman goalkeeper Sydney Gibbs made three saves for Blinn.

The Bucs hit the road to battle region counterpart and No. 11 Angelina College at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, in Lufkin, Texas.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
