The Blinn College women’s soccer team dropped a 5-0 Region XIV decision to No. 15 Navarro College on Saturday in Corsicana, Texas.

The setback dropped the Buccaneers’ record to 6-9 overall and 5-9 in conference play.

Despite the loss, Blinn has qualified for the Region XIV Tournament for the third consecutive season and will now face No. 12 Angelina College in the opening round on at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, in Lufkin, Texas.

Against Navarro, the Buccaneers were outshot 12-3.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 at the half.

Freshman goalkeeper Sydney Gibbs made three saves for Blinn. 

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
