“I thought we played hard and competed tonight, and we did a great job guarding Port Arthur in the first half,” Bucs head coach  said. “We just didn’t do enough offensively in the second half and missed some shots we usually hit. Sometimes the game just goes that way.”

Blinn built a 33-27 halftime lead before Port Arthur rallied after the break.

Freshman guard Desmeon Jones paced the Bucs with 22 points to go with three assists and three steals. Freshman guard Kendarius Johnson added 13 points, and freshman guard Ian Sedah had nine points and 13 rebounds. Freshman forward Rollings Kamanda pulled down a team-high 19 rebounds to go with four assists.

Up next, Blinn takes on region foe Kilgore College at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 53 national championships since 1987.
