Blinn College’s Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band will present their annual Mid-Winter Concert on Sunday, March 1, at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center in Brenham.

The concert will feature classic band music as well as songs from more modern composers. The 5 p.m. concert is open to the public and free of charge.

The Symphonic Band will play the first half of the concert followed by the Wind Symphony on the second half. Both groups will be conducted by Dr. Sarah Burke, interim director of bands and professor, and Robert McElroy, instructor.

“We are very excited to feature both groups during this concert,” Burke said. “This will mark the first time the Symphonic Band has ever performed on this annual concert and we think it will be a wonderful evening of band literature.”

The Music Program is part of Blinn’s Division of Visual & Performing Arts, which offers courses in architecture, arts, music, theatre and communication studies.

Registration for Blinn’s 8-week Spring courses is available through March 22. For enrollment information and to learn about financial aid opportunities, visit: www.blinn.edu.
