The Blinn College esports team defeated Hutchinson Community College in an NJCAA Esports (NJCAAe) Call of Duty match Tuesday.   

The Buccaneers earned the victory by way of a 3-0 sweep in a best-of-five series with the Blue Dragons. 

Blinn finished the NJCAAe Premier Series regular season with a 6-1 record and earned the second seed heading into the playoffs.

“I’m really proud of how we finished off the regular season,” said Blinn assistant coach and Call of Duty manager Ryan Lucich. “This is quite a turnaround from our 2-5 record last semester and it just goes to show how much work the players have put in. We knew we needed to take care of business today for playoff seeding and we came out in absolute dominant form.”  

Blinn’s run in the NJCAAe playoffs begins Nov. 7. The Bucs’ opponent has yet to be determined. 

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 44 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
