Families across Austin County are invited to attend the annual Austin County Back-to-School Health Fair and Backpack Giveaway on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Bellville High School.

The free community event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Bellville High School, located at 850 Schumann Road in Bellville, and will offer free health screenings for both children and adults, along with backpacks and school supplies for students preparing for the upcoming school year.
Students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade will be eligible to receive a free backpack filled with school supplies. Organizers note that backpacks and supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Children must be present and accompanied by an adult to receive school supplies.
In addition to helping students prepare for the classroom, the event will provide free health screenings designed to support the well-being of Austin County residents before the start of the new school year.

The event is hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Austin County and the Austin County Department of State Health Services. Community support for the event is provided by several local sponsors, including the Bellville Lions Club, WoodmenLife of Sealy Chapter 105, CJ’s Tax Service, the Austin County Family and Community Health Advisory Board, and the Houston Food Bank.
