Austin County 4H members competed on April 23, 2016 at the District 11 Livestock Judging Contest held in College Station, TX. ย Members have been learning how to evaluate Cattle, Sheep, Goats and Swine and give Oral reasons to defend their placings.
The Junior team consisting of: Maddison Diezi, Coy Geistmann and Luke Vykukal placed 3rd overall, and 2nd in Swine. Maddison Diezi was 5th High Individual Overall and 1st High Individual in Swine, Coy Geistmann was 9th High Individual Overall and Luke Vykukal placed 3rd High Individual in Swine.
Austin County had 2 Intermediate teams compete, Team #1 consisting of: Gabby Eskew, Faith Martin, Samantha Diezi and Trace Fitch placed 3rd Overall, 5th in Cattle, 2nd in Sheep & Goats and 8th in Swine,ย and Team #2 consisting of: Stephanie De Smit, Hayden Vykukal, Branson Warmke, Rex Aschenbeck placed 7th Overall, 8th in Cattle, 8th in Sheep & Goats and 1st in Swine .ย Gabby Eskewย placed 8th, Faith Martin placed 9th, Samantha Diezi placed 10thย High Individuals in Sheep & Goats, Hayden Vykukal placed 5th, Branson Warmke placed 6th, Rex Aschenbeck placed 8th High Individuals in Swine.
Austin County Senior Team Consisting of: Garrett Sebesta, Hunter Vykukal, William Diezi and Mackenzie Burke placed 4th Overall, 4th in Cattle, 4th in Oral Reasons, 5th in Sheep & Goats and 4th in Swine. Garrett Sebesta placed 9th High Individual Overall, 6th in Cattle, 6th in Oral Reasons and 6th in Swine.

The 4H Wildlife took 2nd place at the Texas State Wildlife Contest on April 26, 2016. Austin Hanath placed 4th High Individual, Canute Janish placed 5th High Individual, Dalton Kasper placed 10th High Individual and Braden Raeke placed 13th High Individual. Team members have been working hard to learn all they can about Wildlife including, habitat management and wildlife biology and ecology.
