Blinn College esports fell to the University of North Carolina-Wilmington in a Rocket League match Monday.
The Buccaneers fell 3-0 in a best-of-five series.
Blinn is now 0-3 in the National Association of College Esports (NACE) Varsity Premier East 6 Conference.
Logan Mcclain, Braeden Buffington, and Xavier Johnson competed for the Bucs.
This was not our week,” Blinn head coach Kyle Murto said. “Overall, it was just a poor performance on our end. The season is hard, and for us to drop a game we considered winnable is only going to make it harder. We are going to be looking to hard scrimmage the rest of the week and work on our communication and our positioning so this does not happen again. My players are hungry to get a win and they are going to bust their butts so we are better prepared for our future matches.”
Up next, the Bucs will take on James Madison University in a NACE matchup at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. Blinn Call of Duty battles North Central Missouri College in an NJCAA Esports tilt at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, while the Buccaneer Overwatch squad takes on Oklahoma Christian University in NACE play at 7:30 p.m., also Tuesday.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 44 NJCAA national championships since 1987.?
