The Buccaneers got double-digit kills from a trio of hitters and swept host Trinity Valley, 25-20, 25-16, 25-23 for their 31st consecutive win. 

“It’s great to go on the road and beat a good team,” Blinn head coach Terry Gamble said.  

Blinn (32-1, 13-0 Region XIV) rode a game-high 12 kills from sophomore Jayde Shelton and got double-digit efforts from sophomores Reagan Casey (11) and Chandre Van Zandt (10). Sophomore Ashley Taylor chipped in with six kills. 

Sophomore Savannah Sebek dished out a team-high 29 set assists, and fellow sophomore Emily Smajstria served up three aces. Sophomore Gulia Hortelan added two aces and sophomore libero Lixai Perez tallied one. 

On defense, Smajstria and Hortelan and 10 and eight digs, respectively, while Perez recorded five. At the net, Taylor had three block assists, Casey and Sebek had two apiece, and Shelton posted one solo.  

Trinity Valley dropped to 19-10 overall and 6-8 in region play. 

The Buccaneers return to action against Panola College on the road at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21.
