Two Blinn College football players earned first-team all-conference honors from the Southwest Junior Football Conference while 19 others earned second-team and honorable mention accolades.

Defensive lineman Traland Webber (Cameron) and deep snapper Nick Wildberger (San Antonio) earned first-team honors. Webber posted six sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery while accumulating 35 total tackles on the year while Wildberger was consistent in his long snapping duties.

“I feel good for those players that made first team and I thought we could have had a couple more,” said Blinn coach Keith Thomas. “I knew Traland Webber would be up for all-conference and Nick Wildberger is just a one-of-a-kind long snapper.”

Four Buccaneers were named to the second team. Linebacker Trent Soechting (Katy) was all over the field for the Buccaneers with 60 tackles and a sack, while defensive back Jhavonte Dean (Miami, Fla.) was solid in coverage and picked up 18 tackles on the year.

Offensive lineman Avery Jordan (Pearland) was a force on the line for the Buccaneers while punter/kicker Eric Piccione (League City) averaged 40.8 yards per punt. Piccione also made honorable mention as a place kicker after he made 9 of 15 field goals with a long of 41 yards.
