Full Time - Coordinator of Student Center and Campus Events
The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - Coordinator of Student Center and Campus Events at our Brenham Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
Support and strengthen the Blinn College district community by fostering relationships with Blinn College personnel,
students, and external partners. Coordinate, contract, and schedule all events across the Blinn College district.
Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for coordinating with Blinn College personnel regarding the usage (to include
scheduling, contracting, billing, and support services) of the various campus facilities
managed by SLA. This includes both external partners on all campuses and internal
partners on the Brenham campus. - Provide direct oversight to include contracting, billing, and coordinating housing (if
applicable) of all summer camps held on campus - Coordinate with Housing and Residence Life, Food Service, Facility Maintenance, and other
Blinn offices across the college district to ensure the needs of those booking campus
facilities on all campuses for campus events or summer campus are met - Responsible for coordinating the complete set-up/break-down of events occurring at the
various facilities on all campuses that are managed by SLA and used for events. This
includes the following: tables, chairs, multimedia, food service and special requests. - Responsible for tracking programming budgets (billing, invoicing, and deposits) and the
goal/assessment results related to campus events on all the district campuses - Assist the Director of Student Leadership & Activities with student organizations and clubs
as well as programming campaigns, including New Student Registration, Community Fairs,
Job Fairs, Preview Days, etc. - Assist in the planning of campus events and attractions to engage students and enhance
students’ overall Blinn experience - Coordinate with the Marketing department as needed in the development of promotional
materials - Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
- Associates degree or one semester of college coursework toward degree attainment.
- 2+ years of experience in student affairs and/or conferences or event planning.
Minimum Competencies
- Ability to effectively use interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy, with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to motivate, organize, develop materials, analyze and solve problems, monitor and evaluate effectiveness, and interpret results.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate flexibility as work requirements change.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Co-Pilot) and other related software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ years in student leadership or related experience
Preferred Competencies
- Knowledge and experience with Ad Astra, Ellucian Banner, Element 451, CS Gold, or software / related apps.
- General knowledge of college operations including instructional programs, student services and fiscal management
Special Notes To Applicants
Position may require travel to other Blinn College District campuses. Work could entail some nights and Weekends and calls after hours.
This is an in person, on-campus, 40 hours per week position.
This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Yearly leave time includes:
96 hours vacation
40 hours discretionary
16 hours personal
8 hours sick each month.
Paid leave for college designated holiday’s, spring break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas break (approx. 25 days per year)
