The Blinn College menโ€™s and womenโ€™s golf teams are preparing to compete on the national stage as both programs head to the 2026 NJCAA Division I National Championships this week.

The fourth-ranked Blinn women begin competition Monday, May 11, at the four-round NJCAA Division I Womenโ€™s Golf Championship at Oakwood Country Club. The 15-team tournament runs through Thursday, May 14.

The Buccaneers secured an automatic berth after finishing runner-up at the NJCAA Central District Championship in April. This marks the third consecutive national tournament appearance for the womenโ€™s program and the third in school history.

Blinnโ€™s lineup includes sophomore sisters Daniah and Abiha Syed, sophomore Lillie Webster, and freshmen Ava Murcer, Jacqueline Lawrence, and Arianna Rodriguez. The Buccaneers enter nationals looking to build on last seasonโ€™s historic fifth-place finish, the best result in program history.

The womenโ€™s team has enjoyed an impressive season, winning six tournaments during the fall and spring schedules. Daniah Syed, currently ranked 10th nationally in NJCAA Division I womenโ€™s golf, captured four individual tournament titles during the year.

Blinn also turned heads earlier this spring at the Riverbend Intercollegiate in Sugar Land, where the Buccaneers finished ahead of several strong programs, including current NJCAA No. 1 Odessa College.

After competing against numerous NCAA Division I programs throughout the season, Blinn believes its challenging schedule has prepared the team for the national spotlight.

Meanwhile, the No. 11-ranked Blinn menโ€™s team will begin play Tuesday, May 12, at the NJCAA Division I Menโ€™s Golf Championship at Sand Creek Station. The 24-team event concludes Friday, May 15.

Blinn earned an at-large bid and will make its fifth appearance at the national tournament.

The Buccaneersโ€™ roster features sophomores Cody Peters, Jaxson Daniele, Ben Potter, and Adrian Rodriguez, along with freshmen Broc Talamantez and Brody Horsak.

The menโ€™s squad earned two tournament victories during the season, highlighted by Potter earning medalist honors at the Wildcat Invitational in Alexandria last fall.

Blinn heads into nationals following a strong showing at the SouthCentral District Championship, where the Buccaneers finished fourth overall with a 2-over par team score.

Both Blinn teams hope to continue their successful seasons with strong performances against the nationโ€™s top junior college golf programs.

Blinn College has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and has won 53 national championships since 1987.
