The Blinn College women’s soccer team was unable to rally out of an early deficit and ultimately fell to Angelina College 3-1 at home Friday at Rankin Field in Brenham, Texas.
The Buccaneers are now 3-5 overall and 2-4 in region play.
The Roadrunners took the lead for good in the 3rd minute of play and pushed their lead to 2-0 just before the half with a goal in the 43rd.
In the second half, Angelina made it 3-0 with a conversion of a penalty kick in the 55th minute.
Blinn broke up the shutout in the 88th minute on a goal from freshman midfielder .
The Bucs totaled 11 shots.
In goal for Blinn was freshman keeper Brooke Assur, who made one save.
The Bucs resume play with a non-region road trip to North American University at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Houston, Texas.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 49 national championships since 1987.
