The 10th-ranked Blinn College football team has accepted a bid to play in the El Toro Bowl at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Yuma, Ariz. The Buccaneers will face No. 6 Snow (Utah) College Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. CST.

“We are very excited as a team, and as a coaching staff we could not be more proud of our kids because they have earned it,” Blinn head coach Ryan Mahon said. “This gives us one more opportunity to show everyone what the 2017 Blinn Buccaneers are all about.”

Blinn holds a 6-3 record, while Snow sits at 9-1 record coming into the bowl.

The Buccaneers posted a 5-2 conference record to earn a share of the Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC) championship. From 2008-2011, the Buccaneers played in four consecutive bowl games and picked up wins in all four, including a national title in 2009. This will be Blinn’s first bowl appearance since 2011.

The Badgers recorded a 5-1 record in the Western States Football League. Their only loss of the season came against No. 2 Arizona Western College, 29-27.

The bowl game will be livestreamed in HD at www.azwestern.edu/live, with a pregame show starting 30 minutes before kickoff.
