A local business is asking the community for help after suffering a theft from their property last night. Keaton Cattle Company, located at 4267 Hwy 36 in Sealy, put out a plea for help to the area on their social media after having two of their feed trucks stolen last night.

Sealy adopted a very strict sex offender ordinance at Tuesday night’s city council meeting regarding residency restrictions for registered sex offenders and restrictions on public park entrance. The unanimously passed ordinance restricts sex offenders from going within 2000 feet of places where children gather and restricts entrance to a public park that resides within the city’s boundaries.

The Sealy Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidate forum on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 6pm at the Sealy American Legion Hall. The first part of the forum was for the Sealy City Council Candidates and the second half was for the Sealy ISD School Board Candidates.

Three representatives for the City of Sealy, Mayor Carolyn Bilski, Interim City Manager Warren Escovy and Director of Public Works Mark Pulos, sat down with us in an interview and did their best to answer many of the questions and concerns that customers have been expressing now that the city’s sky high gas bill has been passed on to residents.

A normal month’s gas bill for the city is between $70,000 – $80,000. However, the gas bill the city is facing for the month encompassing the polar vortex came to a staggering $2,064,000 dollars, and this cost is about to be passed on to the city’s 1,350 gas customers.
The former city manager, Lloyd Merrell, filed suit against the City of Sealy on Thursday, March 4, 2021. The suit was filed in the 155th District Court and alleges breach of contract by the city failing to meet its contractual obligations spelled out in the original hiring agreement.
