The Sealy Economic Development Corporation met on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 6:30pm at the W.E. Hill Community Center to discuss the business of the city. The following video is of that meeting.
The Sealy City Council was given an update on the Allen’s Creek Reservoir Project during the City Council Meeting by Kathy Dominquez. The project is moving forward by beginning the US Army Corps of Engineers 404 permitting process. This process could take up to 10 years and construction is not expected to begin until 2030 at the earliest.
The National Miracle Treat Day got some local assistance from the Sealy Fire Department. The local Dairy Queen reached out to ask if the department would take part which they did. The Sealy Fire Department took the opportunity to meet with the community, hand out stickers and allowed children to get an up close look at the fire engine and the equipment.

A single car accident resulted into the addition of a grassfire. The accident happened at FM 3013 and Oil Field Road. No injuries were reported.
What started as a small fire in a field next to Hwy 36 quickly escalated as a nearby hay storage was caught in the spread of the fire. Sealy Fire responded as rain began to fall and wind made the situation very dangerous for spreading. Hwy 36 was blocked off as firefighters tried to manage the fire. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
