The Main Street Advisory Board in Sealy, Texas is seeking community volunteers to join forces and improve the downtown area. By offering advice and recommendations to the City Staff and City Council, individuals have the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the city through the Main Street Program.
Austin County and the City of Sealy will be making speed changes to select roads within the area. New signage by TX Dot has been posted.
Due to valve replacement activities, the Texas Commission on the Environmental Quality has required the City of Sealy to notify some affected customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.). The map enclosed in the article shows the affected area of the notice.
The 2022 Sealy Jingle Bell Run happened Saturday, December 3 on Sealy Main Street. Hundreds of participants took part to show their support.

The Austin County Commissioners Court took the first steps this morning to transfer ownership of the old county jail in Sealy, located at 240 Main Street, to the Sealy Area Historical Society. The historical society plans to renovate the building and turn it into a museum.
Storybook Rescue in Cat Spring & The Bean Fien in New Ulm hosted a fundraiser, collecting several bags and cans of pet food for the Sealy City Pound.
The fire department badge pinning ceremony has been a long-standing tradition in the fire service for many years. It is a recognition for either joining a department or a promotion to a higher rank. I.e., (Firefighter to Engineer or Engineer to Captain). The Sealy Fire Department celebrated the promotion of three of their own. Surrounded by their families and co-workers, the three firefighters celebrated important milestones. During Austin County Emergency Services District No. 2’s first badge pinning ceremony Captain Kevin Kramr, Captain Eric Ordner and Firefighter Devin Kern were promoted.
Sealy Police Department working with taskforce officers made a traffic stop at 2949 interstate 10 frontage road. The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Ricardo Alfredo Galindo (24) from Houston. During the course of the traffic stop, Galindo was found to be in possession of (4) kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. Task Force Officers continued their investigation which led them to a residence located in the 2400 blk of Cunningham road, Wallis Texas. During a search of the residence, they located a clandestine methamphetamine conversion laboratory.
