The community of Selman Elementary came together to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with a week-long celebration. Local businesses and community members donated treats and meals to show their appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the teachers and staff at Selman Elementary.
Congratulations are in order for the Sealy FFA members who excelled at the Bluebonnet District Convention. Ryleigh Gilfoil took 1st place in Extemporaneous Speaking, while Dylan Matthews won 1st place in Talent. Alana Lindsay and Brooke Baber also performed exceptionally well in the Prepared Public Speaking categories. Grayson Oliver, Kenna Schram, Ansley Owen, Jackson Burttschell, and Kenzie Simmons also made important contributions to the convention through their leadership roles.

The Sealy FFA Land Judging team has secured a national contest berth after earning a 5th place finish at the state contest. The team members have shown exceptional dedication and commitment to their craft, and their achievement is a testament to their hard work and skill.
The Sealy Tigers varsity baseball team put on an impressive performance against the Bellville Brahmas in a recent conference game, winning 8-1. Led by Player of the Game Ethan Doyle and standout performances from Braden Tyler and Haden Wernecke, Sealy’s dominance on the diamond was clear from the first pitch.
Students at Sealy Elementary School had the chance to pie their teachers in the face after raising funds for the American Heart Association. With so many students reaching their fundraising goals, not one, but three teachers allowed themselves to be covered in whipped cream, making the event a huge success.
Fourth and fifth-grade gifted services students from Sealy Elementary School and Maggie B. Selman Elementary School recently participated in the Texas A&M Engineering Spark Outreach Program. The program provided hands-on learning experiences and workshops to inspire and educate the students about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields and prepare them for future careers in these fields.
The Sealy varsity baseball team suffered a 9-4 loss to Needville in a conference game held on Tuesday. Despite their best efforts, Sealy was unable to catch up to Needville’s lead, with Needville maintaining a consistent edge throughout the game. The loss is a setback for Sealy, but they’ve had a successful season so far with a 12-4-1 record.
