We’re currently looking to hire an entry-level Fabrication Technician to join our team and assist in the production of our sheet metal products.

Job Description: As a Shop Helper at Talons Garage, you will support our skilled fabrication team in the production of sheet metal components for off-road accessories. This is a hands-on position that provides an opportunity to learn about various fabrication processes, including welding, CNC operations, and general sheet metal work. You will play a key role in assisting with the creation of high-quality products that our customers trust for their off-road vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist skilled technicians with MIG/TIG/Stick welding on sheet metal, steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components.
• Help operate CNC laser cutting machines under supervision, ensuring precision in cutting sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings.
• Support the setup and operation of CNC press brakes to bend and shape sheet metal parts, following specifications provided by the team.
• Aid in the preparation and application of powder coating to sheet metal parts, contributing to the durability and quality of the finish.
• Assist with general sheet metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, grinding, deburring, and assembling parts. Help with finishing tasks to prepare products for final inspection.
• Participate in quality control by inspecting parts for defects and ensuring they meet specifications before moving to the next production phase.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by keeping workstations and tools properly maintained. Follow all safety protocols to ensure the well-being of yourself and your teammates.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (technical or vocational background is a plus).
• Basic knowledge of welding (MIG/TIG) and familiarity with CNC operations and sheet metal fabrication techniques is desirable.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints is beneficial.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new techniques and processes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
