Description
The City of Sealy Streets/Parks Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Utility Worker I. This team member will assist in the maintenance of City parks, facilities, streets and drainage. They will work closely with other City employees and community groups to prepare for events and will help maintain the cleanliness of streets and highways located within the city limits. Primary duties will include mowing, trimming, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash receptacles, as well as operating heavy machinery, shredding, and other related duties. This team member must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold, will be expected to assist other departments when necessary and will work rotating weekend shifts. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Texas Driver License (CDL Preferred), heavy lifting, experience in operating lawn mowers, tractors, shredders, various hand tools, as well as heavy equipment, tractors, and shredders. Hourly salary range is: $19.26 to $30.85 (negotiable with experience). Applicants interested in this position must submit a completed application to the Human Resources Office. EOE.
